Cavendish Hydrogen Awarded €1.4M Contract for Northwest Europe Refuelling Station

Published on 04 May 2026

Denmark-based Cavendish Hydrogen has been awarded a €1.4 million (approximately $1.6 million) contract to supply a hydrogen refuelling station in Northwest Europe. The contract was granted by French company Mesure Process. The station, set to become operational in 2027, is designed to serve buses and industrial vehicles.

Strategic Location and Application

While the exact location of the station has not been disclosed, Cavendish Hydrogen noted that its placement could position it as a logistics and demonstration hub for the region. The project is part of a major European Commission Horizon Europe initiative focused on hydrogen mobility.

Collaboration and Responsibilities

Mesure Process will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of the station. This contract follows closely on the heels of Mesure Process’ $7 million order for electrolysers from Nel Hydrogen, the company from which Cavendish Hydrogen is a spin-out.

Growing Hydrogen Infrastructure in Northwest Europe

This project contributes to the increasing number of hydrogen refuelling stations across Northwest Europe. Countries in the region are working towards targets for the use of renewable fuels of non-biological origin in road mobility, as outlined in the EU’s Renewable Energy Directive III (RED III). While most EU member states aim for 8% by 2040, Germany has recently raised its target to 10%.

Future Outlook

The deployment of hydrogen refuelling stations is a critical step in the transition to sustainable mobility. This project highlights the growing collaboration among European companies to expand hydrogen infrastructure and accelerate the adoption of hydrogen vehicles.
